So glad to read this article. I just received some information today from my organization HQ regarding the difference between "differentiated" and "adaptive" instructional models. "Adaptive Instruction" was a new term for me. As with "inquiry" vs. "explicit instruction", there is a complexity to understanding the nature and purpose of each in order to best plan effectively. Important rules of thumb (i.e. I, We, You) need to be adapted by teachers as starting points, but that is only the beginning of the art and craft of teaching.
